Thursday, June 9

Free clinical breast exams: 5-7 p.m., Bayhealth Cancer Center, Milford Memorial, Milford. A clinical breast exam is a physical examination done by a healthcare practitioner trained to notice abnormalities in the breast tissue. Nurse Practitioner Sandy Voss, FNP-C, of Bayhealth Hematology/Oncology Associates will donate her time to provide these services. US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 12-03 meeting: 7 p.m., Under-Comm office building, 198 Mullet Run, Milford. All are invited to attend – starting at age 17. There is no age limit to join and former members may rejoin. Learn about the fields of opportunity available with the US Coast Guard in their homeland security duties.

 

Friday, June 10

Relay for Life: 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on June 11, Milford Middle School, 612 Lakeview Ave., Milford. Join the fight against cancer. Call 324-4227 or www.relayforlife.org/milfordde.

Ballroom dance: 8-11 p.m., Camden Wyoming Moose Lodge, 760 Moose Lodge Road, near Wyoming. Everyone is welcome. No partner or experience is needed.  The cost is $10 per person for USA Dance members and $12 per person for non-members – pay at the door. One need not be a Moose Lodge member to attend.

2nd Friday – History in the Making: 6 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Walnut St., Milford. Learn more about the new Bayhealth Health Campus, the project’s timeline, and description of the central features of the facility. This is a free, family-oriented program.

 

Saturday, June 11

Farmers Market Studio: 10 a.m., Mispillion Art League, Milford. Stroll the Riverwalk Farmers Market in downtown Milford and bring purchases to the gallery by 10 a.m. for the Farmers Market Studio – a relaxed workshop of instruction in both watercolor and acrylics. Learn how to arrange, sketch and paint using your veggies. Beginner and experienced painters welcome. Led by Cathy Walls. Delaware State Fair annual Job Fair: 9-11 a.m., Dover Building at the Delaware State Fairgrounds, 18500 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington. Interested individuals are encouraged to visit www.delawarestatefair.com for more information.

38th Annual June JAM: noon, G&R Campground, Houston. The entertainment features The Heydaze. Taking the JAM stage this year is Smokin Gunnz, kRUSH, Robbie Boothe Band, lower case blues, Shades of August, Kategory 5, and Mason Dixon. Enjoy the music in a family-friendly picnic setting with games, raffles, 50/50s and vendors while helping to raise money for local charitable organizations. Sussex County Habitat’s Women Build Project continues as Habitat’s National Sponsor Lowe’s presents free how-to clinics including How to Prepare for Painting and How to Repair a Toilet. Friday, June 24

Sunset cruises to benefit Food Bank of Delaware: 7-10 p.m., 213 Wyatt Avenue, Bowers Beach. Captain’s Lady Charters is partnering with the food bank to offer the cruise. Tickets are $30 per person per ride and include light fare prepared by students from The Culinary School at the Milford Branch and tastings from local breweries, wineries or distilleries.
