Wednesday, Aug. 31

USA Dance Dover practice sessions in ballroom and rhythm: 7-8:30 p.m., Camden Wyoming Moose Lodge, 760 Moose Lodge Road, near Wyoming. Practice sessions will feature East Coast Swing and Bachata practice for all levels from 7-8 p.m. From 8-8:30 p.m. music for various dances will be provided. Experienced dancers will be on hand. Saturday, Sept. 3

Big Saturday in Greenwood: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Greenwood. The town transforms into one giant yard sale and a fun-filled community celebration. The event, sponsored by the Friends of the Greenwood Library, offers a variety of family-friendly entertainment, all types of food vendors, baked goods, a D.J. providing music for the day and representation by a variety of nonprofit groups. 5th Annual Family Fun Day Festival: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Ellendale’s townhall and town park, 300 McCaulley Ave., Ellendale. Featuring 40 vendors, Trooper 2 to land at noon, K-9 demostrations, a 40-foot obstacle course inflatable, plus other inflatables, DJ, dunk booth, giveaways – including free school supplies, pony rides, state police horses and more.

 

Sunday, Sept. 4

15th Annual Clam Jam For Kay’s Kamp: Noon to 8 p.m., 20106 Beaver Dam Road, Milford. All you can eat clams, crabs, shrimp, pig, corn and more! $50 per person, 12 and under free with kids menu. Saturday, Sept. 10

All-you-can-eat Crab and Shrimp Feast: 6-9 p.m, Carlisle Fire Company & Ladies Auxiliary, 615 N.W. Front St., Milford. Menu includes crabs, steamed shrimp, hot dogs, hot sausages, corn, hush puppies, beer and soda. Advance tickets: $40. For tickets call 424-1979.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 13

Milford Chapter AARP #3134 meeting: noon, Milford Senior Center, 111 Park Ave., Milford. The meeting will begin with a covered dish luncheon followed by a presentation about the new transportation program, Independent Transportation Network that is beginning in Milford. If you are unable to join the group for lunch, the presentation will begin around 12:20 p.m.  The dues for the local chapter are $5 per year. For more information, call Glenn Garner at 422-4545.

 

Saturday, Sept. 17

First State Charity Open Car Show: 8 a.m. gates open, 9-11 a.m. registration, 2 p.m. trophies awarded, Delaware State Fair Grounds, 18500 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington. Benefiting the Home of the Brave Foundation. All makes, models, and years of cars are welcome to enter. Cost to enter a car is $15 day of the show or pre-registration is $10. “Rosedale Revisited” Fundraiser for Mispillion Art League: 5 p.m., Milford Senior Center, 111 Park Ave., Milford. This event will bring to life the music and memories of Rosedale Beach Hotel and Resort once located on the shores of the Indian River Bay near Millsboro in Sussex County. Members of Don Del Productions will perform. With more than 40 years of entertainment experience, the company of performers will sing, dance, and speak their way into your hearts as they highlight the dynamic era of the Rosedale Beach Hotel and Resort. $5 Movies at Riverfront Theater ‘Atrapa La Bandera’ (Capture the Flag): 7:30 p.m., 2 South Walnut St., Milford. Presented by Milford Second Street Players $5 Movies at Riverfront Theater. Spanish soundtrack. Doors open at 7 p.m. “Atrapa La Bandera” movie is sponsored by Sea Watch.  SSP is sponsored by the Delaware Division of the Arts.

 

Saturday, Sept. 24

Farmers Market Studio: 10 a.m., Mispillion Art League, Milford. Stroll the Riverwalk Farmers’ Market in downtown Milford and bring purchases to the gallery by 10 a.m. for the Farmers Market Studio – a relaxed workshop of instruction in both watercolor and acrylics. Learn how to arrange, sketch and paint using your veggies. Beginner and experienced painters welcome. Led by Cathy Walls.
