Saturday, May 28

Buccaneer Bash in Bowers Beach … Museumopen: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Bowers Beach. Parade down Main St. at noon. Costume contest, “Grinchspeare,” “Wally” from DelDOT, “Pete the Pirate,” “Pirates of Fortunes Folly Show.” Food, crafters, reenactments, cannons, swordfights, and live music by The Brigands.

Breakfast at the Bowers Fire Hall: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Bowers Beach.

2016 Delaware Teen Idol Auditions: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Milford Boys & Girls Club, 101 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford. For more information, in Sussex County contact Kaneisha Trott at 856-7761 ext. 138.  Auditioning youth may dance, sing, rap and perform poetry/spoken word to one or more of the following topics: HIV/AIDS, Mental Health, Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Substance Abuse, Violence Prevention, Fatherhood Involvement, Bullying. Community Yard Sale: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Memorial Volunteer Fire Company, Station 1, Bay Avenue, Slaughter Beach. Tables are $10 each to rent. Breakfast sandwiches, hot dogs, and drinks will be on sale. For more information, call Diane O’Hara at 245-4998. Proceeds benefit the Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Buccaneer Bash in Bowers Beach: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Bowers Beach. Food, crafters, reenactments, cannons,sword fights. Colonial beer brewing techniques by brewing historian.

Rig it Right presentation: TBA, Bowers Town Hall. Learn how to rig a recreational crab pot to reduce the amount of bycatch the trap might catch if lost. This is a free presentation.

Free clinical breast exams: 5-7 p.m., Bayhealth Cancer Center, Milford Memorial, Milford. A clinical breast exam is a physical examination done by a healthcare practitioner trained to notice abnormalities in the breast tissue. Nurse Practitioner Sandy Voss, FNP-C, of Bayhealth Hematology/Oncology Associates will donate her time to provide these services. Stroll the Riverwalk Farmers Market in downtown Milford and bring purchases to the gallery by 10 a.m. for the Farmers Market Studio – a relaxed workshop of instruction in both watercolor and acrylics. Learn how to arrange, sketch and paint using your veggies. Beginner and experienced painters welcome. Led by Cathy Walls.
