Milestone marked

051015 Stutz Tribute 1001AGREENWOOD – State Rep. Bobby Outten recently helped Viola Stutz celebrate a milestone, presenting the Greenwood resident with a House of Representatives’ Tribute commemorating her 100th birthday.

Ms. Stutz was born on May 10, 1915. At the time, Tsar Nicolas II was the leader of Russia and Woodrow Wilson was president of the U.S.

Reaching the age of 100 is more common than it was several decades ago, but it is still a rarity. There are more than 50,000 centenarians currently in the U.S. — roughly about one-sixtieth of one-percent of all Americans.
