La Red Health Center adds a new pediatrician

Nieves Zaldivar La Red Health CenterDr. Nieves Zaldivar, a highly regarded pediatrician with a strong following in Sussex County, has officially joined the staff at La Red.

Dr. Zaldivar specializes in the unique physical, emotional and behavioral needs of infants, children, adolescents and young adults.

Dr. Zaldivar received her M.D from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and a bachelor of science in biology from the Institute of Havana in Cuba. With more than 30 years of clinical experience, she is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and an active in many other professional organizations.

A familiar face in Sussex County, she comes to LRHC from the Nemours Pediatric Clinics in Milford and Seaford where she was a staff pediatrician.

Dr. Zaldivar is now accepting new patients and welcoming patients from her previous practice.

The opening of the Milford health center was made possible by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, aiming to meet the significant health care needs that exist in the northern Sussex County area.

“We are committed to providing the highest caliber of pediatric care and the addition of Dr. Zaldivar to our clinical staff will help us continue to provide the type of patient-centered care that our patients have become accustomed.” said Brian Olson, LRHC’s CEO.

Services provided at the Milford site include care for adults, seniors, screening for chronic diseases, along with a full range of services for pediatric and adolescent care.

LRHC’s pediatricians are partners in a child’s health. From immunizations to school physicals, they offer the specialized skills needed to provide tailored, comprehensive health care for a child’s ever-changing physical and emotional needs.

LRHC offers a sliding fee scale based on income and family size for uninsured patients, and accepts Medicare and Medicaid, most commercial insurance plans, and most plans available through the Delaware Marketplace.

The Milford Health Center is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m and is now accepting new Medicaid patients.
