Volunteers with the Lake Forest Church Association, Inc. food pantry recently accepted a $10,000 grant from the Potter Charity Trust Grants Fund, a fund of the Delaware Community Foundation that awards grants in partnership with the CenDel Foundation.

The food pantry had plenty of clients but not enough freezer space to accommodate the needs of the 200 plus households who visit each month requesting help with food to meet their family needs.

Funding through the grant made the purchase of large freezers possible to keep enough poultry, meat and various frozen products on hand to help families put food on their tables.

The food pantry has been operating for over 35 years. It is open Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 102 Dorman Street in Harrington next to the Harrington Police Station. Partnered with the Food Bank of Delaware, it is a 501 (c) 3 Corporation. All donated funds go towards providing food.

Appointments for food pick up is arranged by calling 302-222-8404. Donations can be made to Lake Forest Church Assoc., Inc, (LFCA) at PO Box 101, Harrington, DE, 19952. Donations are tax deductible.
