Dover man threatens victim, arrested for harassment

HARRINGTON -Donald R. Caldwell, 30 of the 1400 block of McKee Rd. in Dover, was arrested by the Delaware State Police March 30 for a warrant issued by the Harrington Police Department.

Harrington police officers were contacted by the victim March 14, reporting that the victim was being harassed by Caldwell. Police determined, after speaking to the victim, that the victim’s daughter had been in an earlier domestic dispute with Caldwell.  Over the next couple of hours after the dispute, the victim began receiving numerous phone calls and text message from Caldwell.  In which, Caldwell allegedly threatened to do bodily harm to the victim.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate Caldwell so police obtained a warrant for him charging him with terroristic threatening to a victim over 62 years of age and harassment.  Caldwell was taken into custody March 30 by Delaware State Police Troop 7 for the warrant out of Harrington PD and new charges from the incident in State Police Jusrisdiction.  Caldwell was arraigned and processed by Delaware State police and was given a $500 secured bond on the Harrington Charges.  He was later committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of bond.
