Free demonstrations to be held at the Delaware State Fair

HARRINGTON — Visitors to the Delaware State Fair can learn how to cook Asian water buffalo, delve into different lima bean recipes, and get barbecue cooking tips all at the Department of Agriculture’s building.

Starting Thursday, July 21, DDA and its partners will offer a lineup of free food and cooking demonstrations every day of the fair, with plenty of comfortable seating in air- conditioned comfort. The DDA building is located between the Kent Barn and the Simpson Building.

fair“There will be an exciting lineup of educational programs this year,” said Secretary of Agriculture Ed Kee. “We’re pleased to be able to offer this space for our partners to share information about great food and facts about Delaware farms, which contribute $8 billion to Delaware’s economy.”

The demonstrations are conducted by Delaware agricultural groups, farmers, restaurants, Cooperative Extension educators and DDA staff.
