Harrington woman arrested for hitting child with TV cable

Dalenesha E. Benson, 30 of Clarks Corner in Harrington, allegedly struck a 10-year-old child with a TV cable causing minor injuries, according to the Harrington Police Department.

The police department was notified by the Division of Family Services March 1 about a possible child abuse incident occurring at the apartments involving the victim.

She was arrested March 3 after detectives from the Harrington Police Department, with the assistance of the Child Advocacy Center, conducted the investigation which confirmed the abuse.

Police obtained warrants for her and she later turned herself in.  She was processed and with charged with one count of assault in the third degree.  She was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was released on $500 unsecured bond.
