Harrington woman arrested for shoplifting

HARRINGTON — Lisa M. Melvin, 45 of the 17,000 block of South DuPont Highway in Harrington, was arrested after allegedly shoplifting from two stores.
Officers from the Harrington Police Department responded to the Best Ace Hardware in the Midway Shopping Center July 6 and were told that two women had entered the store, removed items and fled.
After reviewing the surveillance footage, police were able to identify Melvin as one of the suspects due to her committing a shoplifting at another store in the same shopping center earlier in the day.  Police obtained warrants for Melvin and she later turned herself in.
She was processed and arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 2. She was released on $1,000 unsecured bond after being charged with conspiracy in the third degree and shoplifting under $1,500.
