Man jailed after violating a no-contact order

HARRINGTON – Kenneth Kellam was arrested June 6 by the Harrington Police Department for violating a no-contact order.

The 58-year-old from the 17,000 block of South DuPont Highway in Harrington was allegedly in a verbal altercation with the victim in the parking lot of Royal Farms when police were dispatched to the Liberty Plaza Shopping Center.

Police found that a no-contact order prohibiting Kellam from contacting the victim is in place as a result of an earlier altercation. Police then responded to a residence on South DuPont Highway and took Kellam into custody.  He was transported to the Harrington Police Department for processing.

He was charged with one count of breach of release.  He was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $500 secured bond.
