Three charged in Harrington drug bust

HARRINGTON – Harrington Police Department officers seized suboxone, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and more than $1,000 in suspected drug proceeds Sept. 16 with the assistance of several other agencies.

The narcotics search warrants were executed at two separate residences in Harrington as a result of a several month investigation into drug dealing within the city.

Dewayne Mumford, 34 of the 100 block of East St. in Harrington, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with an aggravating factor (misdemeanor) and possession of marijuana related drug paraphernalia (civil).

He was released on $1,100 unsecured bond pending future court appearances.  In addition, Mumford was wanted out of the Kent County Court of Common Pleas for failure to pay.  He was given a $250 unsecured bond.

Kevin Hughes Jr. 25 of the 200 Block of Hanley Street was charged with forgery in the first degree (felony) and possession of marijuana (civil). He was released on $3,100 unsecured bond pending future court appearances.

Donald Hollingsworth, 47 of Harrington, was charged with possession of marijuana (civil).  He was issued a summons and released.

The Harrington Police Department was assisted in the execution of the search warrants by members of the Milford, Smyrna, Felton, Greenwood, Ocean View Police Departments, the Delaware Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement and the Kent County Department of Public Safety Emergency Medical Services.
