Two arrested on drug charges in Felton

Felton – The Delaware State Police Kent Drug Unit have arrested two people after the culmination of a one-month long investigation into illegal drug sales from two residences west of Felton.

On Friday, Aug. 25, the Kent County Drug Unit, with the assistance of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence located in the unit block of Sandalwood Drive, Felton.

Upon the detectives’ arrival at the Sandalwood address, Garry Church was located and taken into custody as he was leaving his residence in his vehicle. A search of the vehicle and residence resulted in the seizure of over 251 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a handgun, according to Director of Public Information Sergeant Richard D. Bratz.

The investigation led detectives to a second address in the unit block of Cabin Ridge Road, Felton where Allan Dewitt was located and taken into custody. A search of the residence was conducted resulting in the seizure of over 91 grams of marijuana, over $2,000 in suspected drug sale proceeds and a handgun, according to Sgt. Bratz.

Garry Church, 19 of Felton, was transported to Troop 3 and charged with three counts drug dealing, possession of a tier 1 marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by person prohibited and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on$21,100 unsecured bond.

Allan Dewitt, 21 of Felton, was transported to Troop 3 and was charged with drug dealing, possession of a tier 1 marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by person prohibited and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $7,100 unsecured bond.
