Harrington man arrested for resisting arrest

HARRINGTONJeremy J. Jensen, 37 of the 200 block of Delaware Ave., was arrested by the Harrington Police Department March 18 after police responded to a report of a disorderly subject at 2:16 a.m.

While on patrol, officers responded to assist the Delaware State Police with a disorderly subject at the Harrington Raceway and Casino.  Police were then advised the suspect left the casino and police were given a description of the suspect.

A Harrington officer located the suspect, identified as Jensen, on East St. in the area of the railroad tracks.  Police contacted Jensen who was intoxicated.  He was taken into custody by police and then became disorderly and began yelling and cursing at the officer, refusing to get in the officer’s vehicle.  After a brief struggle, Jensen was secured in the vehicle and transported to the Harrington Police Department for processing.

He was charged with resisting arrest, drunk on a highway and failure to carry a light on a public roadway.  He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and he was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $575 secured bond.
