Troopers investigating another crash near Frederica on Sunday

FREDERICA – The Delaware State Police is investigating a crash involving a vehicle and Tractor Trailer near Frederica.

According to Delaware State Police Spokesman Richard Bratz, a preliminary investigation determined the incident occurred today at about 3:25 p.m., May 3, 2015, on Bay Road (SR1)  in the area of the Barrett’s Chapel Road east of Frederica, as a Barry Nocus, 46, of New Jersey was operating a 2010 Perdue Tractor Trailer southbound in the left lane of Bay Road.

He was slowing the tractor trailer for a previous collision when a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse, operated by Vivian Harding, 52, of Harrington looked down to pick up a cigarette and struck the rear of the tractor trailer with the front of her vehicle.

The tractor trailer driver was not injured.

Vivian Harding was transported by ambulance to the Milford Memorial Hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of Bay Road (SR1) in the area of the crashes are currently open. The road was closed for approximately two hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
