Published since 1915, The Journal’s distribution area is defined by the Lake Forest School District, which includes the rapidly evolving City of Harrington as well as the towns of Bowers Beach, Felton, Frederica and Viola.

Besides being destinations themselves with many local attractions and services, these towns are mushrooming target communities for the regional shopping hub of Greater Dover to the north, steadily expanding Greater Milford to the east, and the burgeoning expanse of Sussex County and the beach areas to the south.

Harrington is home to the Delaware State Fair grounds that celebrate the importance of agriculture to the area; the multimillion dollar Harrington Raceway, which is the oldest continuously operating harness-racing track in the country; and the state’s Midway Slots, a gambling palace of over 1,300 slot machines.
